Building upon successful award winning restaurants in New Orleans, James Beard award winning chef and owner,  Donald Link expanded Couchon to its second location in Lafayette, Louisiana. A 7,200 square foot building with seating for 240 patrons.  Typical of his restaurants the kitchen activities are on full display, demanding an  organized, clean aesthetic.

As an alternative to a quiet dining experience, diners can sit along the kitchen to immerse themselves in the activity or enjoy a drink at the bar or the patio deck and enjoy views of the Vermilion River.  A wood burning oven and interior smoker is intentionally displayed to highlight the kitchen capabilities.

Architectural materials and forms such as the wood slat entry procession and suspended light boxes take a cue from the chef’s twist on Cajun recipes – to present traditional ideas in a new way while maintaining a sense of historic charm.
